David and I (Joyce) meet and dated in high school. He quit school in his senior year to join the Army to go to Vietnam. He attributes his survival to the training he received in the Army and the skills within the Boy Scouts. Having been wounded 4 times he volunteered to go again. He went in rank from Private First Class to Specialist 5th Class and was awarded 4 Purple Hearts; 3 Air Medals for hours accumulated flying in hostile territory and the Bronze Star for Valor. His remaining time in the service was served on a Navel base in Key West Florida where we got married on base in the chapel. He is a life member with post 1287 and enjoys cooking; fishing and hunting also likes frying at the post fish fries. I’m a Auxiliary member at the post.We are coming up on our 40th wedding anniversary still remaining buddies and are soul mates for life. Joyc
